50 to 60 Percent Agreement On Iran’s Nuclear Deal But Finalization in May

Vienna International Center – Kawther Salam – Catherine Ashton, EU foreign policy chief said in a joint statement with Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif during a press conference held today afternoon at the Vienna International Center that the nuclear talks between Iran and the six world power countries were “standing in the way of a comprehensive agreement and we are trying as hard as we can to drive the process forward.”

She said that `’a lot of intensive work will be required to overcome the differences ahead.” Ashton suggested some progress was made and the negotiators are now looking to the next round on May 13 2014. She said: “We will now move to the next phase in the negotiations in

Ashton and Zarifi stated that the negotiators will meet again on May 13 2014, two months before July 20 2014, the deadline for finalizing the accord. She said that “a lot of intensive work will be required to overcome the differences ahead.”

Iran and six world powers namely the USA, France, Britain, Russia, China and Germany started a new round of nuclear negotiation on Tuesday April 8 in Vienna, aiming to reach a draft of a final agreement.

The power countries want Iran to scale back its uranium enrichment activity to deny it any capability to quickly produce an atomic bomb, if it decided on such a course. Iran says its nuclear program is entirely peaceful and wants them to lift sanctions.

Iran’s foreign minister Zarifi spoke in Farsi while reading his statement despite there was no translation during the press conference, he said that his country and six world powers are reached “50 to 60 percent agreement” on the shape of a nuclear deal meant to crimp any potential Iranian attempt to build nuclear arms in exchange for an end to crippling economic sanctions.

November 19, 2012 – Gaza: this phase of the attack on Gaza began November 14th, 2012 with a targeted killing of Ahmed Al-Ja’bari, the leader of Hamas. Eight other civilians died with him. The attack on Gaza continues with air strikes on civilian areas reported by the international media. Israel’s air targeting has moved from identified rocket launchers to civilian infra structure and individual homes of those suspected as militants. The high rate of civilian casualties exceeds “collateral damage”. (Link to the article)

Democracy Now! (Nov. 19, 2012) reports nearly a hundred Palestinians dead, 700 wounded and among these 200 children. With Israel’s reservists called up the military machinery is in motion toward a more complete destruction of a civilian area host to a substantial portion of the Palestinian people. Media and NATO human rights organizations refuse to discuss Israel’s policies and actions within a perspective of genocide.

See the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, particularly Article II, a, b, c and through the effects on child-bearing women d. Military attacks on civilian targets continue to be a war crimes without statute of limitations. Targeting “suspects” for death or assassination is a war crime (in effect, the targeting applies to an entire family or neighbourhood). Within a confined civilian population the targeted strikes on militants have parallels to extra-judicial executions of political prisoners.

The International Criminal Court refusal (April 3, 2012) to consider Israel’s crimes against Palestinians during Israel’s attacks on Gaza Dec. 2008 – Jan. 2009, with 1400 Palestinian deaths (see previous), suggests international law is rendered useless, allowing worse crimes. Because Israel’s intention to abide by fundamental human rights law is in doubt, genocide warning. As a program of intentional destruction of the Palestinian people (previous) advances, a threatened invasion of Gaza without legal recourse available for the victims reveals impunity, and Israel which calls itself the Jewish State risks setting itself outside/beyond protections of moral law. The genocide warning in place for the people of Gaza, extends by consequence and effect to the moral teachings of Judaic culture.

Argentina: trials continue for crimes against humanity during the military takeovers of the Seventies. Previous. Three naval officers, Luis Sosa, Emilio del Real, Carlos Marandino, were found guilty of executing political prisoners and sentenced to life imprisonment by Federal Court, October 12, 2012. The court has tried to extradite a fourth officer accused with them, former Lt. Roberto Bravo, who is said to have delivered the death “coup” to prisoners. His extradition was refused by a U.S. judge in Miami.

Historical note on the Trelew Massacre: an escape attempt of over a hundred inmates from the prison at Rawson in Chibut Province, 1972, resulted in freeing six revolutionary leaders to Allende’s Chile and the surrender to authorities of 19 of their cadre who missed the plane. These were taken to Amirante Zar naval air base prison near Trelew, where they were held and tortured. The fate of the remaining 89 prisoners is not mentioned in accounts.

The 19 at Amirante were proclaimed shot attempting a second escape on August 22nd, 1972, according to a discredited official account supported by the U.S. Embassy. In fact they were shot repeatedly by a military squad in the prison corridor and in their cells. Of the 19, three survived who described an unprovoked slaughter. Maria Antonia Berger, shot in the stomach, wrote on the floor with her blood “Libres o muertos, jamás esclavos,” before she was shot again in the head. Of three survivors, she was disappeared in 1979, Alberto Miguel Camps in 1979, and Ricardo René Haidar in 1982. So many connected with the escape were killed the death toll suggests ongoing retaliation by the military to conceal a crime.

Of Argentinian Naval Lieutenant Roberto Guillermo Bravo, now a U.S. citizen, he was identified in 1974, then hidden by the Argentinian Navy, reportedly supplied papers by Washington’s naval attaché and in 1977 flown to Washington and hidden by the U.S. Navy (unverified) until provided with papers to set up in Florida. An American citizen since 1987, Bravo’s Miami based company RGS is a U.S. military supplier, contracting with USAF, DOD, the Bureau of Prisons, and clients in thirty States. RGB showed a 6 million dollar profit from government contracts in 2000 (Página|12).

Argentinian courts dealing with “dirty war” cases rarely pursue evidence of U.S. involvement. Former Argentinian officer Adolfo Scilingo (previous) who murdered political prisoners by “death flights” (prisoners were injected with pentothal and dropped out of helicopters over the Atlantic or River Platte) is in a Spanish prison. In 2005 he was sentenced to 640 years which was limited by law to 30. Contested in 2007 the sentence was increased to 1084 years to serve 25.

Zions Two Minutes of Hatred in Vienna

Today 8 May is the day on which Nazi Germany capitulated to the allied forces in 1945, what put an end to the second world war which cost the lives of 60-70 million Europeans, uncounted casualties and destroyed infrastructure throughout the continent. The memories of that war are still alive among many Europeans, as probably most people here know of members of their family 2-3 generations ago who died, were wounded, interned, expelled or victims of assorted other atrocities.

One small group of such people, about 300 members of conservative student unions („Burschenschaften“) gather every year in Vienna to commemorate and mourn the fallen. They do this in the Heldenplatz (Heroes Place) in the inner city, and this year was no exception. This simple act has attracted them the unrelenting hatred of the representatives of zion and their fellow travelers. These students are labelled nazis, neonazis, holocaust deniers and whatnot for having the temerity to commemorate the fallen of a long since passed war.

This year appears to be special. While in the past these commemorations elicited protests from the usual suspects, it appears that the students had to been dealt a lesson for thinking different from the rulers. The loyalist media started with their vituperations against those horrible deviants some days ago, the government declared these activities to be undesirable, and the great parts of the city were closed off and drowned with nervous riot police apparently scared from the somber-looking „peaceful“ protesters, far-away loudspeakers screeched hysteric harangues against those anti-socials and their commemoration and thoughts which the system deems undesirable. Just as in the book „1984“, the system and its minions allowed themselves their two (long) minutes of pure and unadulterated hatred against people who think different from them.

I had been invited but I did not register for event, so I witnessed what was happening on the „outside“. I was treated to a rabble brimming with hatred flying american, british, communist and israeli flags, shouting slogans and ostentatiously displaying their moral superiority. One of the press photographers who is always present at government press conferences, who I know is a jew and who knows that I am a Palestinian, appeared next to me, spat on the floor before me and then disappeared in the crowd. This was the usual, disgusting display of racism, hatred and petty vindictiveness for no discernible offense which I know from the extremist squatters of the West Bank, those ugly americans and Europeans who use their religion to justify all kind of disgusting and criminal behavior for, after all, they are the „choosen ones“.

As a Palestinian I am automatically labelled a terrorist, a subhuman and other far less polite words. Palestinians who defend their family, possessions, livelihood and homeland are murdered, abducted, tortured, their houses bulldozed or burnt by the zionists and their minions. So, if we are being treated in this way by the zionists for doing what is natural and claiming nothing more than our inalienable rights, then it is very possible, I thought, that those students whom I don’t know and whose politics I don’t know, must also be doing something that is natural to humans, namely honoring their dead and keeping to their traditions. Why does the rabble have the right to fly the israeli flag which symbolizes a 70-year long rampage of genocidal criminality against us Palestinians but these Austrian students are denied the right to keep to their traditions and respect their country in a way of their choosing?

When that „colleague“ came by to insult me by spitting on the floor, things somehow started to make sense, in the same way how George Orwell imbued the activities of the psychopaths in power in his famous novel with sense: people who defend and stand up for their values, their traditions, their families, their country, such people are deemed enemies of the system, heaped with scorn, labeled with the worst possible epithets and slated for destruction. On the contrary, people who tolerate abuse against themselves, their friends, family and country, people who betray their own and their values, people who engage in antisocial, immoral and criminal activity, people who vicariously show themselves as ignorant and hate-filled dolts, such people are praised and elevated to examples to be emulated.
